"In the blink of an eye, five years of character development has fallen by the wayside; Serena’s back to being a selfish, self-medicating party girl; Lily has tossed away yet another marriage (to her soulmate, this time) at the first sign of difficulty; Bart Bass has returned, every bit as terrible as he was before; Chuck is once again incapable of recognizing a woman’s worth; Nate has yet another interchangeable love interest; and Dan is yet again on the anti-Upper East Side bandwagon, relying on Georgina Sparks to facilitate a take-down. Why, exactly, have we wasted half a decade watching these characters evolve, if devolution is seemingly so easy?"

 #now this is what i call a good and complex and interesting and progressive narrative #at the beginning dan was the most judgemental about her #he held the most stereotypical and false view of blair #he couldn’t see past what was on the outside #and through time and being with each other #he gradually realised really what kind of person she was #intelligent and intuitive and sensitive and beautiful and fiercely strong and capable of anything #he finally sees her for what she is on the inside and what she always been all along #only that blair just needed somebody to believe in her #and they never would’ve known in a million years when they shook hands at bart bass’ brunch five years ago #that that person would be dan humphrey #THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A GOOD AND COMPLEX AND INTERESTING AND SURPRISING NARRATIVE #NOT A COUPLE GETTING BACK TOGETHER FOR THE 498508TH TIME AND DECLARING THAT THEIR ~MAGNETIC PULL IS STRONGER THAN EVER
